Seppelt has been at the forefront of Australian winemaking for more than 165 years.

Our winemakers have been responsible for some of the biggest innovations in Australian winemaking, including pioneering sparkling shiraz and the commercialisation of cool climate wines.

Seppelt winemakers like Joseph Best, Charles Pierlot and Colin Preece have left an indelible mark on Australian winemaking history.

Clare Dry


Growing up on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Clare has had a long-held interest in the world of wine.

Completing a Bachelor of Oenology from the University of Adelaide, Clare worked for many wineries and vineyards back in Mornington and overseas in Germany before joining Wolf Blass in 2007 as a vintage winemaker.

Over the next 13 years, Clare has honed her skillset, crafting wines across varieties in both red and white wine production, while also participating in extensive wine judging. Most recently, Clare has been instrumental in crafting premium Chardonnay, a variety she greatly enjoys.

Larry Sadler


Drumborg is an amazing vineyard, at times unforgiving, but always delivering exceptional fruit with great intensity and structure

Growing up on the rural outskirts of Sydney, Larry Sadler was destined to head bush instead of the city.

Larry studied at the University of Adelaide, completing a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science (Viticulture) and further post graduate diploma in wine business. He began managing Seppelt Drumborg vineyard in 1996 after working as assistant vineyard manager at Wynns Coonawarra.

Larry's passion for Seppelt's Drumborg Vineyard is evident, and working the site remains a special privilege.
