Sourced from the mature, cool‑climate Drumborg Vineyard in south‑west Victoria’s Henty region, our Chardonnay is part of Seppelt’s iconic Drumborg Vineyard range. Planted in 1964 by Karl Seppelt, the Drumborg Vineyard is renowned for its cool‑climate, single‑vineyard wines which are a reflection of the beauty and purity of this isolated site.
Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Henty Chardonnay is an expression of purity and balance. Select parcels of Chardonnay are chosen for their intensity of flavour and aroma, and traditional winemaking techniques are used to produce a finely structured yet powerful and regionally iconic expression of Chardonnay.

Nose
Fragrant lemon pith, white nectarine and white peach notes are balanced by the more savoury elements of toasted macadamia nougat and a flinty minerality to create an expressive and enticing nose.
Flavours and Palate
Restrained and waiting to more fully unwind, the palate is pure and poised at release. Lemon citrus notes star alongside classic elements of white nectarine and toasted cashew. Nine months maturation in barrels on full lees has created a texture that works in harmony with the slatey acidity of Drumborg Vineyard; both elements work in tandem to lengthen and define the palate to create a seamless flow. This wine will continue to unfurl with age, revealing more nuance and complexity as time passes.

Henty, Victoria
Henty is one of the coolest wine regions of Australia but is protected by a maritime influence. Famed for being the home of cool climate viticulture and the iconic Drumborg vineyard, Henty is renowned for its Rieslings, Chardonnays and Sparklings.
Vintage Conditions
A dry start to winter before timely late winter and early spring rainfall replenished the soil profile. A warm, sunny and relatively dry growing season followed, resulting in one of the earliest vintages on record at Drumborg Vineyard. Flowering and fruit set were slightly below average, leading to smaller-than-usual yields; however, fruit quality was consistently high across the site.
Clare Dry - Seppelt Winemaker
Growing up on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Clare has had a long-held interest in the world of wine. Completing a Bachelor of Oenology from the University of Adelaide, Clare worked for many wineries and vineyards back in Mornington and overseas in Germany before joining Wolf Blass in 2007 as a vintage winemaker. Over the next 13 years, Clare has honed her skillset, crafting wines across varieties in both red and white wine production, while also participating in extensive wine judging. Most recently, Clare has been instrumental in crafting premium Chardonnay, a variety she greatly enjoys.
