Sourced from the mature, cool-climate Drumborg Vineyard in south‑west Victoria’s Henty region, our Pinot Meunier is part of Seppelt’s iconic Drumborg Vineyard range. Planted in 1964 by Karl Seppelt, the Drumborg Vineyard is renowned for its cool‑climate, single‑vineyard wines which are a reflection of the beauty and purity of this isolated location. Pinot Meunier was first planted at Drumborg Vineyard in 1966, originally intended for use in our sparkling wine. The sheer age of our vines means they have reached the level of maturity required to produce excellent table wine. Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Meunier is a unique example of this variety and is amongst only a handful of wines made in this fashion in Australia.

Brightly aromatic, offering strawberry compote and sweet spice and lifted by savoury charcuterie and flinty cordite notes.
Flavours and Palate
Inviting redcurrant and sour cherry notes set the tone, layered with subtle savoury nuances of bramble and porcini mushroom. Supple, fine boned tannins and restrained oak support the vibrant fruit, delivering a lively, flavoursome and highly approachable wine. A natural fit for tomato based dishes such as pizza and pasta.

Henty is one of the coolest wine regions of Australia but is protected by a maritime influence. Famed for being the home of cool climate viticulture and the iconic Drumborg vineyard, Henty is renowned for its Rieslings, Chardonnays and Sparklings.
Vintage Conditions
A dry start to winter before timely late winter and early spring rainfall replenished the soil profile. A warm, sunny and relatively dry growing season followed, resulting in one of the earliest vintages on record at Drumborg Vineyard. Flowering and fruit set were slightly below average, leading to smaller-than-usual yields; however, fruit quality was consistently high across the site..
Clare Dry - Seppelt Winemaker
Growing up on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Clare has had a long-held interest in the world of wine. Completing a Bachelor of Oenology from the University of Adelaide, Clare worked for many wineries and vineyards back in Mornington and overseas in Germany before joining Wolf Blass in 2007 as a vintage winemaker. Over the next 13 years, Clare has honed her skillset, crafting wines across varieties in both red and white wine production, while also participating in extensive wine judging. Most recently, Clare has been instrumental in crafting premium Chardonnay, a variety she greatly enjoys.
