Taste Description

Taste Description

Nose

Fragrant notes of kaffir lime, lemon blossom, spicy ginger and a hint of perfumed bath salts.

Flavours and Palate

A powerful, flavoursome and intense palate with notes of bath salts and lemon peel alongside kaffir lime, starfruit and spice combining for an exotic spectrum of flavours with superb intensity. The textural, mineral mouthfeel adds flesh to the juicy acid backbone. This wine will drink well at release but will continue to retain its verve as it slowly unwinds in the years to come.

Henty, Victoria

Henty is one of the coolest wine regions of Australia but is protected by a maritime influence. Famed for being the home of cool climate viticulture and the iconic Drumborg vineyard, Henty is renowned for its Rieslings, Chardonnays and Sparklings.

Vintage Conditions

After a dry autumn and early winter, significant late winter/early spring rains filled the soil moisture profile by early October. The growing season, as well as harvest, was warm, sunny and drier than average. Picking occurred much earlier than usual in Drumborg and flavour development was able to intensify in the low disease pressure conditions which allowed for optimum harvest timing. The resulting wines are of excellent quality with powerful aromatics, flavour and structure.
